Healthy Life with Magic Needles
Can magic needles make your life healthy? My sincerest wish for all of you in New Year is HEALTH. A decade ago, I would have said money or love but now, the value in trend is health. Once you lose it, neither love nor money can replace it. Also, happiness comes with health as well. No wonder all the articles are about healthy life, anti-aging etc. nowadays… Speaking of health, I am going to tell you a treatment method that I have been waiting to write about. Recently I took my mother to Aybars Akkor, a writer of our newspaper and also a physician. Because she had low back pain as many of you. And while I was already there, I decided to show my wrist. It is an occupational disease resulting from writing too much. Nerve compression in the wrist, aka Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
My fingers go numb at night. After some time, the muscles weaken and you become unable to hold anything. The only known treatment for this was operation and Mr. Akkor said “Don’t worry. We are going to handle this without a surgery,” after seeing my medical workup results. He then referred a female physician to me. I asked, “What kind of treatment is this?” and they said “You do not want to know!”
Neural Therapy
After we were left alone, neurologist Emel Gokmen told me she will use “neural therapy”. You can look it up from the Internet yourself. This system is mainly about injecting procaine to the problematic area and making it heal itself with this stimulations. In fact, procaine is an anesthetic, however it acts like a stimuli when applied in small doses. The body is a system so good that it can heal the area itself. In my first session, Dr. Gokmen stuck five needles to each wrist and though it sounds like a miracle, my fingers did not go numb that night! It took me three sessions but at the end, the results were unbelievable. No dropping the objects, no numbness.
Since I began to see Dr. Gokmen as a holy healer, I wanted her to treat my stubborn migraine as well. And so, she examined me, looked at my x-rays and told me that these headaches and also the symptoms like ringing in the ears, temporary memory loss were the result of tension type neck aches. Of course, the deformations on my neck left from various car accidents were also responsible. She told me “This will take longer.”

I can bear these needles. Oh, I even feel like I am in heaven! I do not even make a peep. Dr. Gokmen uses thirty needles, sometimes even more. Also there are things like laser, acupuncture, magnetic resonance. Though she says “You are not done yet,” my head does not hurt anymore! I do not tell you all of these to make you run to her. She is already working too much and since she will soon have a baby, she does not need any more patients.
