Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless leg syndrome may be described as disturbing pain in the legs. Patients suffering from this condition may find relief in moving their legs.
Restless Leg Syndrome Symptoms:
- Weird sensations like burning, numbness, electric shocks, pins and needles,
- Need to move the legs because of increasing pain; finding some relief with the movement,
- Increase in the pain while falling or staying asleep, impairment in sleep quality (may even cause inability to fall asleep),
- Need to get up and walk during long flights and meetings.
Restless Leg Syndrome Treatment:
Drugs that are used in the treatment just suppress the pain, when as the real treatment requires eliminating the causes.
RLS can be cured with the help of Gokmen Approach. First, metabolic conditions like anemia and B12 deficiency are checked and then, repeated neural therapy sessions are applied to the interference fields specific to this syndrome.
Nerve Compressions
What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? It is a condition in which the median nerve that we can feel on the inner side of the wrist amongst bones, muscles and ligaments is compressed. An edema occurs on the nerve sheath and it gets hard for the compressed nerve to function.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms: Numbness, pain, weakness on the hand. Myolysis on hand muscles in severe cases.
What is Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome? It is the compression of the ulnar nerve that passes through the nerves on the elbow. It occurs after holding the elbow bent for a long time or leaning on a table or armchair.
Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms: Pain on the elbow. Numbness on ring finger and little finger. Patient complains more after working or sleeping bending the elbow.
Carpal Tunnel and Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome Treatments: In Gokmen Approach, the primary goal is to eliminate the complaints and the damage on the nerve. Besides, the problems are fixed and protective treatment is applied.
- By applying neural therapy on elbow area and the wrist, edema is reduced and the damage is reversed.
- Interference field (tonsils) and thyroid injections must definitely be included in the treatment.
- During the treatment, protective splints may be used.
Shingles
Herpes Zoster virus is dormant in the spine and awakens in the case of a weakened immune system. It causes neurological and dermal problems through the nerve’s path in the body.
Shingles Symptoms:
All symptoms occur on one half of the body, on nerve’s path and usually as band around trunk. It begins with feelings like itching, burning, tingling etc. Afterwards, in 1-2 days a rash appears and turns into blisters that will scab over later. In the following 3 weeks the lesions fade and the pain goes away.
What is Post-herpetic Neuralgia?
Rarely, the pain may continue after 3 weeks and this condition, called “post-herpetic neuralgia”, may last for years. It can be overly disturbing and unbearable.
Post-herpetic Neuralgia Treatment:
Neural therapy is very efficient on removing the negative effects of the virus. When applied on the acute stage, it speeds up the recovery and almost eliminates the possibility of turning into Post-herpetic Neuralgia. On such cases, neural therapy should be the first choice.
Facial Paralysis
Facial Paralysis is the dysfunction of the facial nerve that controls the mimic muscles. A compression and swelling occurs on the sheath of the nerve, on the part that passes through the ear. It is not a condition related to the brain.
Facial Paralysis Symptoms:
Affected muscles; the ones around the lip, on the eyelids and the ones that lift the eyebrows cannot function.
At the beginning, there may be pain behind the ears.
The mouth is pulled to the healthy side, the eyelid becomes unable to close, and the eyebrow cannot be lifted.
Stinging and watering in the eyes. Difficulty in eating and drinking.
Facial Paralysis Treatment:
The condition gets severe in the first week but recedes in 3 weeks.
However, even though it spontaneously recovers, there may be some permanent results.
Neural therapy and acupuncture speeds up the recovery when applied together.
On chronic patients, combining these two heals the nerve. By stimulating the affected and weakened muscles, permanent results may be reversed.
