Neural Therapy Has Defeated Migraine
Neural therapy, shaking nervous system and making it work again, has defeated migraine!
Technology and the power of nature have won the war against migraine. Neural Therapy, found in the 1920s and proved via clinical trials in the 1960s, is now being applied in Turkey as well. This method stimulates the nerves in the spine via laser and then injects a combination of bitter almonds and urtica urens. It also is effective on neck, back, low back and sinusitis pains.
Location: Agva. Time: Well past midnight. While sipping our wines, we are chatting with Yazgülü Aldogan, a journalist. Then she mentions she had suffered from migraine for years, until she miraculously recovered last month. And explains how she was unable to get rid of it for 30 years, how it tied her hands and make her suffer for years but almost one month ago, it left her for good. I ask “how?” and she answers “neural therapy”.
After coming back from Agva, we knock on the door of Dr. Emel Gokmen, Aldogan’s doctor, with my journalist friend Nilüfer Kas. Dr. Emel Gokmen, makes a little application for Nilüfer’s always-on-stand-by headaches before telling us the details of neural therapy. She stimulates the nerves on both sides of the spine, called paravertebral area, and injects the main actor of the neural therapy, procaine, on the same places. Afterwards, she takes Nilüfer to the examination table and applies magnetic field treatment. When Nilüfer got up after less than 30 minutes, she smilingly says that her pain is reduced and the tension she had is lost.
Huneke Brothers Discovered It
Neural therapy is presented as a hope for migraine, which cannot be described exactly but the most distinct symptom of which is headache as Dr. Emel Gokmen said. Europeans know about this since the 1920s. They proved that it is an acceptable solution for migraine in the 1960s and since then, they keep establishing neural therapy clinics. Today, the biggest known neural therapy clinics are operating in Germany and Switzerland. The reason for this treatment is mainly developed and proved in Germany is that the ones who have founded this are German Huneke Brothers. But before describing how they did that, we should take a look at what neural therapy is.
At this point, we leave it to Dr. Emel Gokmen: “Neural therapy is a treatment applied under local anesthesia to various parts of the body. The focus of this therapy is the autonomic nervous system which keeps working while we are awake or asleep and controls all the involuntary movements of our stomach, our heart. Also, it is the system that makes our body work while also managing and controlling it. We can control our hand, arm, etc. but we cannot control the autonomic nervous system. All cells are under the control of a nervous system and are connected to each other. Also, the length of an autonomic nervous system is enough to travel around the world 12 times. This way, any damage on the body gets to be known by the whole.”
Doctors realize the changes in the body via the breakdown of the nervous system. And at the end, this damage on the tissue or the organ becomes visible under the microscope.
The only way to diagnose diseases like migraine, which cannot be seen under the microscope is checking the nervous system. This is the reason for the treatment to be a stimulation, not a surgical method or drug therapy. It stimulates the system and makes it work automatically to correct itself. Here is how it goes: First, the nerves around the spinal cord are stimulated via two laser devices. Then procaine, consisting of urtica urens and bitter almonds is injected to the area. The injection is made to the veins but the stimulated area are the nerves. The nerves around the spinal cord transfers the stimulation to the whole body and makes the autonomic nervous system work to heal itself. Then, the patient is taken to the examination table and gets applied magnetic field treatment.
Dr. Gokmen explains the need for magnetic field treatment as follows: “The earth has a magnetic field because of the magma layer. People need to walk on soil but in our age, this is not likely. Being unable to touch soil harms our magnetic fields and this may result in lots of problems. This magnetic field treatment that we apply is actually necessary for everyone, not just the patients.”
We ask “So what is migraine, how can you describe it?”: “Migraine can be seen at any age. One out of two persons living in the same place can develop migraine due to stress, sadness, instant traumas, mental injuries. The more intense the stress and the more we think about it, the higher the probability of developing migraine. The problem is the external factors that our nervous system is exposed to. Actually, these are the source to a lot of diseases, not just migraine. Nervous system mostly eliminates these intense attacks but not all the time and this, is what is causing the problem. Neural therapy, shakes the nervous system and makes it work properly again.
Urtica urens and bitter almond
And here is the story of how Huneke brothers discovered the mix of urtica urens and bitter almonds, namely “procaine”: During the 1920s, Huneke brothers were working hard on nervous system. They have found regulatory stimulations given intravenously and from the hips. And these were basically urtica urens and bitter almond. One day, they had accidentally inject this formula intravenously to their sister who was having migraine attacks and she, begins walking around happily. At that point, they realize what they had done was a happy mistake. ?? Because this formula, when injected to spinal area, shapes nervous system up. Nowadays applications like laser, magnetic field and acupuncture are being used as supplementary treatments in neural therapy.

- Chocolate
- Noise
Phases of migraine attacks
1. Warnings
First phase of migraine usually takes couple of hours but it might also take a couple days. Fatigue, yawning, mood switches, craving for some food and sensitivity for light-noise-smell etc. are the warnings. Almost 6 out of 10 migraineurs go through warnings phase.
2. Aura
Auras are symptoms that are rooted in the brain and occur 20 – 60 minutes before the headache. An average of 2 out of 10 migraineurs have auras. These are mostly visual problems such as flashing lights, zig-zag lines or grey out. Also, there may be hearing or speaking problems, mental confusion and tingling in the body of the face. Aura disappears before the headache begins.
3. Headache
This is the worst phase of the attack. It usually is on one side of the head. The pain can switch to the other side at each attack or sometimes affect both. Usually it gets severe while doing physical activities such as walking or climbing up stairs. However, migraine is not just a headache. Most people also feel sick and some even throw up. Other frequently seen symptoms are light, noise and smell sensitivity. Most migraineurs look for a dark, quiet room during the attacks. Unless treated, migraine typically lasts between 4 hours and 3 days, but the average is 1 day.
4. Recovery
After the headache is paused or gone, migraineurs suffer from other symptoms until they can completely feel normal. Migraine attacks usually come once or twice in a month but there might be more frequent cases. It is not possible to predict the severity of the attacks. Often times, each attack is different than the other.
